BOXING IN MOURNING DUE TO THE PASSING OF FARRAH FAWCETT AND MICHAEL JACKSON

E-mail Print PDF

June 26th, 2009 - A Day Of Mourning For The Boxing Family

The World Boxing Council is enjoined by Boxing Action to respectfully express deep sorrow at the passing of stunning actress Farrah Fawcett, who married WBC`s close friend, Ryan O’Neal, star of the boxing movie “Main Event”.

Farrah and Ryan were guests at the 1983 landmark ceremony for boxing in the United Nations building, which is located in New York, USA.

The profound grief of the WBC and boxing is further expressed at the passing of Michael Jackson another friend of WBC President, Dr. Jose Sulaiman.

Michael Jackson was the astonishingly talented genius who proved to be ‘The Greatest’ in a galaxy of ‘Greats’.

He was the skyscraper that stood the tallest in the prolifically talented star spangled entertainment cosmos. His genius filled with joy and excitement all those he touched and reached throughout a career, which was as turbulent as it was remarkably original and successful.

The tragedies fill the heart with sadness and today the World  is a sadder place.

As a mark of respect June 26th, 2009  is declared to be a Day of World Mourning within the boxing family; any other who may wish to stand with us on this terribly sad occasion is welcomed with open arms.
