POSTHUMOUS HOMAGE TO OUTSTANDING BOXING LEADER EDMUND LIPINSKI
The World Boxing Council has announced TODAY, October 3rd, will mark an extraordinary boxing event, which will take place in Moscow. It is a posthumous homage to a boxing gentlemen extraordinaire Mr. Edmund Lipinski, who was the first Russian person to be appointed a professional sports leader after the fall of the U.S.S.R. and the first citizen of his country to be elected Vice President of World Boxing Council.
The evening will feature five bouts, all of them title fights. Two will be for WBC International titles and three for belts of the Baltic Sea countries.
The WBC Representatives in this important event will be: International Secretary, Mauro Betti of Italy and WBC Board of Governors members, Miroslav Popovic, of Serbia, and Vladimir Masalov, of Rusia.
The Mayor of Moscow, Yuri Luzhkov, and Mikhail Denisov, who is the CISBB President, will also be in attendance, as special guests.
A huge success is expected in remembrance of one of the outstanding leaders that Russian professional boxing has had, and one of the greatest members of the WBC, Edmund Lipinskiwas a very close and dear friend of Dr. Jose Sulaiman, President of the WBC. ~
