HAYE – FURY FIGHT CANCELLED

THERE IS NO DOUBT CONTROVERSY, DAVID HAYE AND HIS MANAGER/TRAINER ADAM BOOTH HAVE A FIRM PARTNERSHIP.

WITH THE USE OF HEADGUARDS AND THE HIGH PROFILE MONEY FIGHT JUST FIVE DAYS AWAY, WHICH USUALLY MEANS THE INTENSE SPARRING FOR THE  SHOULD BE IN PAST TENSE, IT IS UNHEARD OF FOR A CUT EYE TO BE SUSTAINED BY ONE OF THE BOXERS AND THE FIGHT CANCELLED AT SUCH A LATE HOUR.

Team Fury is extremely angry and understandably so.

Fury said; "There would have been only one winner and that was me. An army couldn't have stopped me on Saturday night because I'd prepared mentally, physically, everything," said Fury.

"I couldn't have done any more in training. I'm in the shape of my life; I just couldn't wait to show everyone what I was going to do and had up my sleeve.

"There's no excuses ever out of me. You never hear me say excuses. If I had two broken hands I would still go in there and fight on Saturday night."

The enormously frustrated Fury added "I've been training so hard, so much for these big opportunities and every time I get a big opportunity something goes wrong."

"Why can I not get my time to shine? Give me a reason!"

His Uncle Peter Fury with acceptable contempt said,

"We move on from Haye now and look to better things.

"This has put a bad taste in our mouths so we're moving on and the fight will not be rearranged on our side."

It has been reported Haye-Fury was a sell-out at the 20,000 - MEM Arena and SKY was due to televise the intriguing bout.

Of course, Team Fury will have serious wasted expenses and this will only add to the intense disappointment of the fighter and team.

Another loser will be Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Boxing who agreed to be the co-promoter.

Adam Booth as the trainer of David Haye owes an explanation to all parties involved, including ticket buyers and all fight fans, to clearly explain how such an accident happened so close to the date of the fight.

To include mind games and hype into boxing is now part and parcel of presenting big fight promotion.

However, it must never be forgotten that boxing is a most serious sport and showbiz might create worthwhile publicity but it must always be contained and should never be allowed to intrude into the business of boxing and bed substitute for practical management. ~
