"IAAF CREDIBILITY IN TATTERS!" - RUSSIA'S SPORTS MINISTER TO RT

Related image IAAF, INTERNATIONAL ATHLETICS GOVERNING BODY HAS BEEN HIDING OVER 150 DOPING-POSITIVE TESTS RESULTS FOR YEARS, RUSSIA'S SPORTS MINISTER VITALY MUTKO SAID ON FRIDAY. HE ADDED: RUSSIAN ATHLETES WERE INVOLVED IN ONLY A SMALL PERCENTAGE OF THOSE CASES.”

"THOSE ARE NOT MY ACCUSATIONS, IT'S A CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION THAT WAS LAUNCHED IN FRANCE AGAINST THE PREVIOUS ADMINISTRATION OF IAAF (INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF ATHLETICS FEDERATION...

WHICH HAD AN ELECTION RECENTLY AND NOW HAS A NEW EXECUTIVE BOARD AND A NEW PRESIDENT," SPORTS MINISTER MUTKO TOLD UK TV CHANNEL  RT."

THE HIGHLY PUBLISHED THREAT BY THE POMPOUS PRATS TO OUTLAW RUSSIAN ATHLETES FROM THE RIO OLYMPIC GAMES HAS BEEN MET WITH POWER LADEN PUNCHES FROM SPORTS MINISTER MUTKO.

THE THREAT TO OUTLAW ALL RUSSIAN ATHLETES FROM THE RIO OLYMPIC  GAMES IS COMPLETELY UNDEMOCRATIC AMD IS RAISING MORE QUESTIONS THAN ANSWERS.

The IAAF members voted 22-1 in favour of a provisional blanket suspension of Russian athletes as members of IAAF by but whom and what actually is IAAF?

While they may have the right to monitor their members, their officialdom ends there.

THE FUTILITY OF THIS DECISION BY IAAF IS IT HAS BEEN MADE IN A WORLD, WHICH EMBRACES COMPETITION.

The nation of Russia is a mighty country and has all the forces - and more – to with finance and organisation to rival IAAF. No doubt, the streetwise President of Russia, Vladimir Putin has already this option under consideration.

"I am wholly focused on the changes that need to be made. I have openly conceded that we need to learn some very tough lessons.  "We need to look at ourselves, within our sport, and we will do that."

On this statement alone how on earth is it possible to support the IAAF suspension only of Russian athletes?

For decades World Athletic Drug Association (WADA) has been responsible for keeping athletics a clean sport. If Lord Coe is correct, and he is, then WADA has failed badly.

It is either ignorance or the need to abdicate reality and enter into a state of nonsense to suggest over many decades only Russia athletes have been guilty of using performance enhancing drugs.

There is ample evidence Lord Coe is correct to state there have been, and continues to be, a serious problems with illegal drugs and detection of illicit performance asssisting  drugs have been exposed year after year, often long after their use. This has to mean there is no question of doubt the system to detect drugs is seriously flawed.

On this evidence alone to single out only Russian athletes, including those innocent,  has to be a perversion of justice.

Much is expected of Lord Coe as President of IAAF. If he has to be hogtied by future decisions made by the Board Members of IAAF, then he should consider his position as President.

The  obviously disappointed Sports Minister Mutov said, It was  believed under the organization’s new president, Sebastian Coe, the IAAF “will have more reasonable policies.”

However, Minister Mutko addedthe IAAF’s. "Credibility is now in tatters," following the current doping scandal.

Russia has met the requirements and has "delivered on all recommendations" presented to it by the international doping control authorities, the Minister added.

The work of Moscow’s anti-doping laboratory is based on the model from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), Minister Mutko said all data from Russia's athletes' biological passports is automatically entered into the international control system. Russia has spent over a billion roubles ($15 million) on anti-doping policies.

He added the sports doping problem is not specifically confined to Russia.

"Doping is not an issue of one specific national federation or country. It is an international issue that we can only tackle together, by getting co-operation from States, the athletes and federations," Mr. Mutko told RT UK television channel.

Any anti-doping activities must "first and foremost" be aimed at protecting those athletes who have integrity and who haven't been engaged in doping," stated  the Sports Minister Mutko with absolute correctness..

He continued:  "Those who break the rules... must be penalized and very harshly, but clean athletes must not suffer because of them."

‘WITCH HUNT’ IS NOT THE SOLUTION FOR DOPING IN SPORT

Over 500 athletes have competed for the Russian Athletics Federation (VFLA) and international anti-doping agencies and sports associations supervise many of them, Minister Mutko added their drug testing process is controlled by WADA.

Imposing a blanket ban would cause "tremendous damage to this sport, not only in Russia, but across the world," the Minister ominously pointed out.

If Lord Coe is correct, and he is, then it would appear WADA has failed badly.

It is presumed this would be denied by WADA.

By the undemocratic political ban an  IAAF decision made behind closed doors to exclude all Russian athletes, including those totally innocent, , has to be  an outrage. It is is an injustice more suited to North Korea.

Much better is expected of Lord Coe. ~
